Approx 2 lbs of apples, cored and roughly chopped (any kind will work)
1/4 tsp salt
2 T. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 c. Cinnamon Pear Balsamic*
Stir all ingredients together in medium-sized pot. Cover and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 2 hours (until apples have reduced).
Remove pot from stove and let cool, uncovered, for at least 15 minutes. Puree mixture with immersion blender and serve.
Note: Can also be made in a slow cooker. Just combine all ingredients and cook on low for 5-6 hours.
